A conversation with Jonathan Brun, Co-Founder of Off/Script:

1. What is Off/Script, and how did it come to be?

Off/Script is a community-led product creation platform. It works like a crowdfunding app for fashion, sneakers and furniture, but we take it a step further by bringing ourselves the successful designs to life through our extensive manufacturing network. Users focus on the creative aspect while we handle the complexities of finding the right manufacturer, negotiating terms, and ensuring top production. Whether you’re working with AI (we have a free tool internally), using software like Clo3D, or just sketching by hand, Off/Script is the place where your creative ideas can become real products. In just 8 months, we’ve grown to half a million users, shipped hundreds of products and shared tens of thousands of dollars in payouts to creators. Our mobile app, available on the App Store, is open to everyone, supporting any form of design that sparks your imagination.

Regarding the history of the business, we are a group of 20 people based in Montreal, with backgrounds spanning from product development to software engineering and AI. The company was launched by our Chief Technology Officer (who  is also my wife), Justine Massicotte, and myself in 2023 after seeing this post from a friend of ours and thinking: we need this! We ended up creating the product in collab with Maalavidaa a few months later.
